Our approach to building sustainable communities
Our commitment to a better world extends beyond our labs. Making the world healthier through life-transforming medicines goes hand-in-hand with our commitment to a healthy planet. Through our environmental education, economic development and employee-volunteerism efforts, we work within our company and communities to positively improve our collective future.
We also aim to reduce our environmental impact by integrating sustainability into all aspects of our business. We are a global leader in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives that prepare students for science careers, and we make investments to support economic development in the areas where we live and work.
Leading in community involvement
As we expand in Ireland, so does our social impact. We support various STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) initiatives, volunteerism and other meaningful causes through our Regeneron in the Community programme.
Check out the good we've been doing in Ireland:
global IOPS volunteer hours for 2020 Days for Doing Good - our annual volunteer week of service
Ireland employees volunteered through Regeneron In the Community (RIC) in 2020
food and household items donated to local charities in 2020
Giving back to our communities
Day for Doing Good gives teams across the world the opportunity to volunteer in their communities. Organisations receive support. Teams build connections. And everyone has some fun–all while supporting worthwhile causes.
Regeneron and all of our employees aim to facilitate future growth, be good environmental stewards and have a positive impact on our communities. Sustainable practices are integrated into our business strategy and our culture. As we continue developing innovative medicines and growing our team, we remain mindful of our environmental impact and we continuously look at ways where we can reasonably decrease our footprint. With this goal in mind, every individual is held accountable for complying with our environmental strategies.
We have set global environmental targets in four key areas to help inform our choices and actions, all with the aim of reducing our environmental footprint and building sustainable communities as we grow.
Our Limerick site
is zero waste
Water and energy reduction and efficiencies
Waste segregation throughout our campuses
As we grow, we are mindful of our environmental footprint and the impact on our local communities, and proactively seek environmentally responsible ways to better operate our business.MORE ON OUR APPROACH
